The about image for Aster's Book Hour. A profile image for a female.

Hello! I am the creator behind Aster's Book Hour, feel free to call me Aster. I am in my mid-twenties and do not fret, I have already heard every variation on how young I look and for all the comments I get, I better look 20 in my 40s. I have a strong background in scientific writing as I am a scientist and though this website is in no shape or form scientific, this is an opinion-based blog, I may occasionally slip into that distinct way of writing. What's not to love about that.

I am topsy-turvy on what the future holds and as I question it, the few things I confidently can say is I like reading, I like (okay, love) plants, I enjoy playing sports, and I care about creating a sustainable future.

You know why a sustainable future is important? Because it means we all can read more, explore more, and just be. That's what reading is for me, an escape to a place where I don't have to think about that sustainable future as you know, it's a bit complicated figuring out how to preserve the Earth. Reading also provides me a place to have an adventure without leaving the comfort of my home and in 2021 and every year beyond, that is extremely important.

I read for myself but I created Aster's Book Hour for you. I want to help reduce the time you unintentionally dedicate to literature that is just not your vibe. Reading should be enjoyable, powerful, moving, an escape, a fun hobby and there is nothing worse than starting a piece of literature and realising it is not for you.

No more of that! Instead, take an hour, peruse Aster's Book Hour, and find your next adventure here!!
