| Why Every Last Fear Is Worth Your Time

Every Last Fear has slid its way into the worth your time instead of hit or miss category. The novel has positives and negatives to it making the story a mixed bag but because because I was engaged and content throughout the whole read, I feel I must put this in the hit category and say yes, this is worth an hour of your time.

If you want a novel that dances over thrills but still keeps you engaged in danger, then go read this novel. Yes, this is a hit for those searching for something easy that will take your mind off your day.

| Plot Progression

The plot of Every Last Fear is a classic thriller with twists and turns that only you know if you'll be able to catch (for me, I rarely catch anything). The plot is a bit tedious in nature, it switches between six characters frequently and may make you lose the ability to get lost in the novel.

The plot revolves around Matt and his family whom have all befallen terrible fates, but the question is - why? And that's what the plot discusses. A decent plot and one that will keep you wondering, who-dun-it?

| Characters

The characters do not have a lot of depth due to length of novel and continuous changing of narrator. Because of this, I feel you do not spend enough time with all the characters to connect fully with them. For a thriller, I think that is okay as it provides the writer the ability to speed up the plot without getting bogged down in the characters. Thrillers can be written anyway and Every Last Fear focuses more on the plot than characters.

| Ending

I feel if the last few pages were not included, then the ending would be solid. It is an ending that will satisfy you but if you are like me, the last few pages may feel unnecessary; they do not take away from the novel but don't leave this thriller was as much punch of an ending I feel it deserved.

| My Thoughts

WARNING: Skip My Thoughts for a spoiler free review.

Every Last Fear by Alex Finlay can be categorised as a beach read. It is a book you find, read, enjoy, and move on. It will take your mind off life and bring you the simplicity that is sometimes craved when reading. I found the novel to be exactly what it claims to be, with no unexpected twists but still enough thrills to keep me interested.

It was a solid book that definitely took my mind off my day. It engaged me and I liked it. I will note the comments made in the novel about false confessions are highly accurate; it is why I am terrified of every getting arrested because traditional interrogation tactics lead to a decent percentage of false confessions. That truth was probably the most terrifying aspect of the novel and something that scares me every day.
